Phantom pain

Phantom Pain explores our physical relationship with the smartphone.
Participants are invited to surrender their phones. In return, they receive a bronze replica of their phone, carved with the imprints of their hands.

The resulting objects become personal fossils: physical traces of a time when the phone had become an extension of the body.

The project imagines these objects as relics from the future, remnants of a technology we may one day have learned to live without. An object to soothe phantom pains.
